EVERY HOME FOR CHRIST INTERNATIONAL
Prayer and Praise Subjects
FRANCE (88 – 61.3 million inh.):
In the small villages in France and on its islands, Christian friends are continuing tirelessly with their work of sowing. Organized in teams or as individuals, these visits from home to home require time and perseverance, especially when they target scattered and remote hamlets. One district with 3,847 inhabitants was recently contacted with the printed page. With praise, pray for the efforts which are continuing in neighbouring villages.
FRENCH-SPEAKING SWITZERLAND (62 – 2.3 million inh.):
The end of September saw the start of a new basic Bible course with 12 people wanting to learn more about the Word of God. 'We are asking the Lord that this course will lead them to find God's love for them,'. We also want to mobilize young people from the different churches for the distribution of leaflets in a local town which has 25,000 homes. Pray that the young Christians will be challenged to get up and join up with a missionary couple who this year have taken on responsibility for the ministry of EHC.
SLOVAKIA (80 – 5.3 million inh.):
After a busy summer season, it has become urgent for EHC to renew its stock of literature, all the more so as evangelism projects remain supported. During the last year and a half, on average 15,000 families were visited each month and about 80 people responded to the Gospel. Thank God for continuing to generously provide for the activities of this ministry and for inspiring our brother who is very involved, elsewhere, in helping marginalized sections of the population.
GERMANY (82 – 82.5 million inh.):
The contrast can be quite startling between the prestigious avenues of Berlin and its poorer districts. But the Christians who had been assigned to visit each dwelling in the centre of the capital, didn't want to miss one of them. In a disused building, one man was particularly surprised and touched by their visit. It was great joy for those participating to see this person, formerly without hope, attending all the evangelistic meetings. Pray that he will find Jesus Christ as his personal Saviour, as well as all for all those who are approaching Jesus Christ.
BOSNIA (70 –4.1 million inh.):
More than ten years after the end of the war which tore it apart, Bosnia still has many traces left of this unleashing of human violence. The population, often traumatized, lives in the middle of infrastructures in ruins. A line of demarcation today separates the two communities Serb and Croat. Without distinction, EHC is active in the two groups. Pray that the message of peace, love and forgiveness will be deeply written in lives.
GERMAN-SPEAKING SWITZERLAND (62 – 5 million inh.):
'It is very difficult to motivate Christians to go from home to home,'. Three regional co-ordinators are employed in visiting churches and mobilizing all the manpower needed to advance the third national coverage. During the first six months, almost 45,000 families were contacted. Pray that a revival will rekindle churches and harness them to the urgent task of making the love of Jesus Christ known. 'This would be the best possible news for each inhabitant of our country!' underlines our brother.
BELGIUM (86 – 10.3 million inh.):
The excessive summer heat followed by copious rain momentarily slowed down evangelistic activities in the Flemish region. 'But God never fails to give us new encouragements,'. Several people having come to the Lord through the ministry of EHC are intending to meet together as a Christian Group. 'This would be a first for Belgium!' rejoices our brother. With praise, pray for all those who, impelled by a great spiritual thirst, make contact with the team.
CZECH REPUBLIC (81 – 10.2 million inh.):
No opportunity is neglected to make the Gospel known in this nation, one of the most materialistic in Europe. The running of Gospel Clubs or Summer Camps gives opportunity throughout the year to reach out to young people. Last August, EHC welcomed about sixty children, the majority of whom were not Christian. Through games, music, songs and various workshops, all were able to discover the promises and riches of the Bible. Pray that it will take root in their hearts and touch at the same time their families.
SPAIN (60 – 41.1 million inh.):
For the new school year a new academic subject awaited Spanish youth this year, called 'co-existence'. Children now learn that there are 'several types of families and parents'. The role of Christians has never been as great and EHC has already begun to work on two new evangelistic leaflets, replacing marriage and family values. Pray that the teaching of Jesus Christ will challenge consciences and be retained as a reference.
TOGO (38 – 4.8 million inh.):
Zeal and love for their neighbour leads, day after day, EHC Agents to new districts where ancestral beliefs have never been confronted with the simplicity of the Gospel. In the north of Togo, there is one particular village inhabited by the Kabye, who don't intend renouncing their occult attachments. Pray for courage, stamina and faith for these soulwinners. In the Plateaux region, where work is in progress especially among the Ewe ethnic group, about forty conversions have recently been recorded in a village.
GUINEA (45 – 7.9 million inh.):
With the collaboration of local churches, an important action was able to be carried out in one particular area. Situated in the south of the country, it is one of the seven prefectures making up the Forest region. Its population has risen steeply over the past years. With the influx of refugees coming from neighboring countries in turmoil, like Liberia and Sierra Leone, it today has more than 800,000 inhabitants. Pray that God will watch over the smooth progress of this project which has been planned over two years. The initial conversions which took place in the Central Prison are a great encouragement.
IVORY COAST (41 – 16.3 million inh.):
From the southern part of the country EHC is seeking to redeploy its evangelistic efforts with a view for a total and systematic coverage of the country. While the Christian faith is more numerous in the south, many regions and towns have never been reached. Pray that the support of Christians for reaching out into this area will enable all the human and material needs necessary for its realization to come together.
NIGER (36 – 11.7 million inh.):
Right throughout the farming season. EHC stuck to developing an outreach from farm to farm. Though very strongly occupied with work in the fields, the inhabitants in one department were in this way able to be visited in many villages. With the active mobilization of local churches, the Gospel should also make great advances in two areas. The 5 new EHC Agents will open in addition the road into 5 regions still unreached. Pray that the Lord will maintain the zealous flame of His children and bless their seed.
BURKINA FASO (40 – 12.1 million inh.):
Outreach efforts are taking place and intensifying among the Bissa people. The Good News of Jesus Christ is beginning to spread in four regions one of which already has a Christian group. Approaching this ethnic group is very difficult. Out of respect for his family a Bissa has to adopt its rites and religion. Sacrifices are carried on from generation to generation mixed in with the influence of Islam. Pray that the EHC Agents will be upheld in difficult moments and that they will be witnesses of lasting and deep changes.
CAMEROON (25 – 16 million inh.):
One town has about one hundred districts with more than one million inhabitants. For 3 years now, EHC has been investing in a project to systematically visit each family with the Gospel. Every day EHC Agents are witnesses of deliverances and conversions. V.V., one of the inhabitants to have been visited recently is happy to witness: '50 years old, paralysed, I decided to give my life to my Savior. He answered me away above my request. I found all the deliverances that I had need off!' May God be glorified by His action in the lives of those who invite Him in.
CONGO DEM. REP. (21 – 3.7 million inh.):
More than half of the population in Congo is Christian. Missionary activity was considerable before independence and Christians are becoming aware that this influence needs to continue. Since 2004, The ministry of EHC, has developed a prayer chain throughout the whole country to encourage nation evangelism. Pray that through this mobilization, material and human resources will be released and that churches will be planted in small villages in the countryside where millions of souls still live without any witness.
